this book has really amazing history of the [email protected] movement. it doesn't hold back in its criticisms of Stalinists in the movement, sexism and cultural nationalism, even talking about the work of Cesar Chavez and his anti-immigrant tendencies (calling la migra on some folks for "stealing jobs", wtf!?). a lot of really interesting labor history- with stuff you don't read about in school /5. Like the author's earlier The New Indians, this is a well-researched, popularized, partisan portrait of a minority newly discovering its powerthe ""Holy Race"" of, Mexican-Americans. Moving from New Mexico's rural villages, where farmers have united to demand the return of their stolen lands, to the Southwest's urban barrios, site of the ""Brown Power"" movement, to the California.
Raza is a Spanish war film directed by José Luis Sáenz de Heredia, and used as propaganda by the dictatorship of Francisco Franco in favour of the regime and against the supporters of the deposed Second Spanish Republic.
